What is on it
- Page 1, walks: date, trigger, distance, what the trigger was doing, reaction score (0 to 5), recovery time, whether you moved away, and notes.
- Page 2, alone time: date, whether the warm-ups were calm, planned and actual time away, stress score (0 to 3), signs seen, and notes.
- Page 3, how to use it: finding your threshold distance, feeding on sight, when to stop, backing off after a big reaction, rest days, and short practice absences.
The reaction scale
| Score | What it looks like |
|---|---|
| 0 | Notices the trigger and looks away |
| 1 | Stares, but still takes food |
| 2 | Stiff or whining, slow to take food |
| 3 | Barks or lunges, recovers within 30 seconds |
| 4 | Sustained reaction |
| 5 | Cannot recover, redirects, or makes contact |
A score of 5 with contact means please see a professional; see the safety note below.
